OPEN DATASET Not running properly & SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE.

Hi ABAPers...

I'm having a problem on using sentence OPEN DATASET.

I'm trying to create, from an starting path (let's say /dira/dirb/dirc/) a complete path of non-existing directories. Plus, due to customer's requisites, it should contain spaces (let's say /dir test1/dir test2/dir test3/).

Destination Application Server is UNIX (Solaris).

So, we've also tested on performing FM "SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE" to create the directory (prior to a further execution of OPEN DATASET) but, as long as we try to execute an MKDIR -p command, it seems that the system consider the param above as serveral ones, so it only creates part of the path ... in this case /dira/dirb/dirc/dir).

Researching, we've found an OSS note in which it's described a problem similar to the described one and says that the program which executes the command, should recibe something between delimiters '% and %', but the result remains the same.

So, have you ever found any issue like this?

Is it there an easy way to solve it?

Did you try fm BRAN_DIR_CREATE

Didn't knew that one...

I'll try, but the problem I see is that dir name is too short for what I need.

Hi,

Does the unix syntax allow spaces between directory names ?? May be because of this reason .

Hi again.

We tried to execute the FM mentioned above but got no enough permissions.

So, after several tests, we gonna try to open an OSS note. I'll keep forum open for possible comments and giving solution if available.
