BDT-process flow for validation on a field

Hi all,

I am not aware if i am posting this question in the right forum. Kindly move, if wrong.

I am working on some minor modifications to the BP txn through BDT. I have included a custom FM at the ciew CVIC12, for customer-additional data tab.

My problem is while i am at the address tab and at save if i find there is an error at the additinal data tab, i should move the cursor to that particular field and alsoto that particular tab. this is basically to guide the user as to where exactly is the prob.

I am not able to acheive this. Kindly pour in some ideas,

Are you issuing any Error Message in PAI event ?.

Hello Herwin ,

try this one ...

Tcode BUS3~~>View CVIC12~~>Further Checkings --->create entry for this.


Function Module After Entry (PAI)
Function module called at event PAI (after input) by the BDT.

Use
Carry out all data checks within this function module. Output messages with function module BUS_MESSAGE_STORE only - under no circumstances with the MESSAGE statement.

Note
The BDT calls the PAI function modules of the views on the current screen after input, online.

In direct input, the transferred data is checked when all relevant PAI function modules are called in succession.

Hi Prabhu,

I have already implemented that. My problem was navigation to the screen where the error is.

I am not able to move from address screen to the Additional data screen when my error is displayed.

it depends how you are raising error message.

are you raising error message like this ?

cvi_bdt_adapter=>send_messages_to_store(

i_messages = lt_messages

i_dynp_struc = lc_dynp_struc

i_bdt_view = lc_bdt_view

just message e075 ?

I have found the solution.

I just passed the screen field name into the FM BUS_MESSAGE_STORE into the imporitng parameter, TBFLD_STRG.

Then Use the FM BUS_MESSAGE_CURSOR_SET. This sets the cursor to that field. and automatically moves to that tab.
