Hi all,

I just figured out, that the package check does not recognize use access to database table via TABLES statement.

* Program ZTEST_PACKAGE_CHECK lies in package Z_GENERAL. The database
* table Z_SPECIALIZED lies in package Z_SPECIALIZED. Package Z_SPECIALIZED
* contains the package interface Z_PI_SPECIALIZED. Package Z_GENERAL has use
* access to package interface Z_PI_SPECIALIZED with severity ERROR.
ZTEST_PACKAGE_CHECK.

TABLES: Z_SPECIALIZED.         " from package Z_SPECIALIZED
DATA: GV_XFLAG type ZXFLAG. " from package Z_SPECIALIZED

The package check will only recognize this dependency when the table is used in code. The definition of this table is not discovered by the check.

Does anybody know, why the package check behaves in that way? For me it looks like an error in standard, because such dependencies may lead into errors during import.

Kind regards

Rudi

BTW: When the program is forced to perform CL_ABAP_COMPILER=>GET_TYPE_REFS in debugger, then the check also cosiders the type behind the TABLES statement.
