change layout button in table control

Hi ppl,

I am creating a custom transaction where the data will be displayed using table control.

The user also wants the buttons for "Change Layout", "Save Layout" & 'Select Layout" to appear with the table control.

Please let me know how this can be achieved.

Any sample code would be really helpful.

Lot of coding effort is required if its a TBC, why dont you go for ALV Option ? Its very easy compared to TBC.

Can't the user just press the configuration button at the top right of the table control?

I rarely use it myself, but most functional users use it.

Hey Rob....this is really good....I never knew of this solution..

but, our client's end users are not very well trained, so they request those specific 3 buttons for layout (Change Layout, Save Layout & Choose Layout).

Please could you help me out how can this be achieved?

Actually, we are copying a standard transaction & are customizing it for additional requirements, so it does not seem feasible to move from table control to ALV grid.

Sounds like a total waste of time.

Your "client's end users are not very well trained" but they are asking for functionality that

a) exists

b) will be really expensive to implement the changes as requested

It would be more cost effective to train the users.
