Hi Gurus,

I am using the FM 'GUI_DOWNLOAD' to download the contents of an internal table to an Excel file.

The data in the internal table is in tab limited form(I don't want to convert it into comma separated) .

Now the issue is that after after the data gets downloaded to the Excel file all the data for a particular row appears in a single column.

The parameters that i have passed to the FM are

CALL FUNCTION 'GUI_DOWNLOAD'

EXPORTING

filename = w_file "Contains the File path and the file name C:\temp\ABC.xls

filetype = c_asc " ASC

write_field_separator = c_x " X

TABLES

data_tab = ts_out " Internal table which contains the tab limited data.

for Example:

the data in the excel file appears this way:

Z V Z00001 Pricing Brackets 010 00 Z000 price bracket 1st 000 000 000 000 000 price bracket 1st

all in the single column(A).

How can i put the tab limited data into different columns of excel file?

Hi,

Is ur internal table having single column with total length of the fields including the delimiter.

If dat is the case system GUI_DOWNLOAD will take the data in single column of the XLS.

Pls let me now the structure of ur internal table.
