Error while creating package

Acc ording to oss note 1166083 , when i am creating standard package " ID-FI-HI " with description given in OSS Note , i am getting message "Enter an existing component" .

In oss note they have not mentioned Transport layer and Package Type .

Transport layer : what should be transport layer - SAP or Quality or production

Package type - 1) Not a main package 2) Main package 3) Stucture package

when to choose which one

Hi Gaurav,

When you create a package, it is assigned the standard transport layer of the SAP System (irrespsective of environment i.e. quality or production). You can also choose to assign which ever is available in the system, can be custom transport layer to which other (transportable) packages are grouped into.

And package type can be any depending on your requirement...generally it is specified as 'Not a Main Package'.

A main package is a special package containing a set of packages related by content. The main package does not contain any development elements itself; it only provides a structure.
