Update many variants

Hi,

I have been asked to update 180 variants of a certain program. I hoped that this could be done via a direct update in a table, but apparently variants are being stored in a structure.

I was wondering how to find out which database table(s) contain the data of this structure? Or another way of updating many variants without too much pain...

Variants are stored in VARID (header data) and VARI (actual content in compressed format).

You need function modules in group SVAR to read and change them with a little custom ABAP program.

I'm not an ABAP programmer, so creating a little program is no option for me.. Do you have another trick in your box to resolve my issue..

Not really. Maybe try making a recording (ECATT, SHDB or so) for program RS_CHANGE_VARIANT and feed that with the program and variant names and the values to be changed.
