Mandatory Segment is Missing

Hi!

I have a problem with an Idoc of type DEBMAS with an extension.

My extention includes a mandatory segment. According to what i have read, the whole IDOC should be deleted if the mandatory segment does not exist. Instead in BD87 the error "Mandatory Segment is Missing" appears.

It looks like some of the IDOCs were deleted correctly while others show this error.

Does anyone have a clue where the problem might be?

Hi Markus,

Even if there is no data in mandatory segement, i mean it's missing idoc will be created and remains with the error 'Missing mandatory segment'.

In the same status you can get details about the missing segment. check and corrected it.

So it is not possible to prevent the creation of an IDOC by not creating a mandatory segment?

It's not possible by standard process. You can forcefully delete the idoc# in the exit, where you can check whether mandatory segment is having values or not. BUT I am not sure how much the idea is suggestable.
