ALV Display header text

Hi Experts

Please help me to fix the issue.

i am displaying ALV grid display, i am using header fileds texts from z-structure. i want to display the 2nd and 3rd column headers intially with 10 and 15 characters respectively. later if need, user can drag to see the rest of the text.

please help me.

you define the text in seltext in fielcat..

Mark your field catalog's seltext_m = 'X'.

CALL FUNCTION 'LVC_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE'

EXPORTING

i_structure_name = 'ZBILL_OUTTAB'

CHANGING

ct_fieldcat = it_fieldcat.

LOOP AT it_fieldcat ASSIGNING <fieldcat>.

CASE <fieldcat2>-fieldname.

WHEN 'POST'.

<fieldcat>-scrtext_m = 'X'.

ENDCASE.

ENDLOOP.

here 'ZBILL_OUTTAB' is a structure to display the colums structure. i want to display the column header intialy 10 characters later i can drag upto 45 chars .

plase help me how to fix this issue. in exsting program FILED Symbols been used

Hi...

The structure ZBILL_OUTTAB must be a DDIC struction, because if is an internal structure the FM

LVC_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE will not work...

you have scrtext_s,scrtext_m,scrtext_l.....in this field you can insert the value ofthe header text, in accordance with the

column lenght

i done the same as what you suggested, but still it is taking short text alone. i wanted to display the medium text in the beginning,no short text to be displayed at all.

Have you tried setting the field OUTPUTLEN of your fieldcatalog?
