How to execute customized report automatically.

Dear gurus

I have made a customized report with selection screen.

i want this report to be displayed automatically when system time is 3:00 PM.

how to achieve my requirement

SM36 to schedule a job that runs your report at 3:00 .

I guess there is no such functionality to schedule and execute a report in foreground.

why don't you schedule it in background?

Select the as Daily and selct time.

It will execute everyday at 3Pm.

Well i dont understand what your requirement is exactly. Are you expecting a program to suddenly run on its own in the foreground? Are you looking to download something to the presentation server automatically?

saad,

Create a variant for the program. Then in SM36 create a job with schedule date and time as the day on which it should start and time as 3.00 and variant as the variant you created. click on periodic job and click daily and save. click on step button and in the abap program give the program name and variant and click on save.Your program will automatically run everyday on 3.00.

I believe, it's not posiible to run a report in foreground in a fixed schedule.

Why don't you create a background program which runs the report and sends the report output to the designated users in an email at a specific time ?

To trigger the GUI you need User Interaction. You cannot start a program automatically at a scheduled time on your own.

Hi Suhas,

What about assigning a transaction to the created custom program,

Then creating a new program which wraps the fm TH_CREATE_FOREIGN_MODE

Now through this fm we can call the transaction in any sap gui for any user logged in, the transaction gets automatically popped up in the screen.

But here the second program must be scheduled in background and executed at 3:00.

Dont know whether this will work in background.

Something like this

Program 1 -

Here if required variant can be assigned by default if there is selection screen.

report abc.

Write 'This is a popup report'.

assign a transaction 'YTEST1' to program 1.

******

Program 2.

Schedule this program in background.

if sy-uzeit = '03.00.00'.

CALL FUNCTION 'TH_CREATE_FOREIGN_MODE'

EXPORTING

client = sy-mandt

user = 'USERID1'. "Hardcoded

TCODE = 'YTEST1' .

endif.

But the user must be logged in to the client for this to happen succesfully.

What do you mean by transaction.

Here there is no need of user intervention.

Because the program which wraps the fm is scheduled in background.

Ohhhhh ... now i got ur point )))

If there is not selection screen, then this should work !!
