I am trying to substitute the cost centee, which isnt available but I ran the OSS note program to make this field availabel by seeting BSEG-KOSTL to available in table GB01. BUt in the substitution exit and I can see the codoe getting swaped, but as soon as it returns to the screen its abck to what it was before. Its like you cant swap this field. Any idea?

There is a note (can't remember which one - maybe you should look for it) that says essentially "don't substitute fields with financial implications".

Rob

Do you know of any user exits then where I could through up an error if the cost centre is not in a bespoke table?

I did look at that but the trouble I have is I have a list of 100 GL codes, that have a one ot one mapping with a cost centre. Where as these set don't look like i can do that? What I want is for a GL code to then lookup a table or set and pull back the cost centre. Is this possible?

So you want to allow/disallow only specific combinations of g/l accounts and cost centers? Then validation is still the way to go, you need one on line item level calling a user exit that will read your bespoke table and react accordingly.

There is plenty of information on SCN, please have a look around.

Thomas
