Retain initial value in input field

Hi Experts,

I have one requirement, where user goes in and gives 0 in the standard field of type QUANT. But 0 is not retained in the standard field, it blanks out immediately. The user has a requirement that 0 shows up in the field.

The data type of the field cannot be changed as it is a standard field. Can it be achieved through any other means.

I guess, you have to do it the way Standard SAP does. You have to use a char field to be used to map on the screen, while the field behind can be the standard field. By this way, you can achieve your requirement.

But since this is a standard field in standard transaction, will I be able to change the mapping.
