ALV layout name

Dear all,

For Standard program RSUSR002 (TCode S_BCE_68001400), the result is being displayed in ALV format. In ALV report i change the display layout and save the layout with name "mylayout". So i will key in the layout name "mylayout" in the program selection screen everytime execute the program.

Understand that the layout id "mylayout" is tied to SAP login ID, user-specific. Right now, other user id need to use the same layout "mylayout".

Could you please advice is there a std FM/tool that allowed me to replicate the layout "mylayout" to other user id?

For this you have to use "Standard Layout" & not "user specific". If you check the default settings checkbox while saving your layout then

other users will also be able to use it in the selection screen.

I suppose he also has to uncheck the "user-specific" option as well & change the name to one starting with '/'

By default the user specific checkbox will not be checked..and also you

cannot create a standard layout without /. so they need not be explained again..

Dear all,

Thanks for your reply. However in my system checkbox "User-specified" is auto ticked and in grey off mode.

I tried to tick "Default setting". Try to pull layout "mylayout" from other user id. Still not possisble.

Then i tried to save "mylayout" as "/mylayout" but system is not allowed due to checkbox "User specific" has been auto ticked where non-user specific naming "/" is not allowed.

Please comment further.

Seems you are missing authorization S_ALV_LAYOUT for activity 23 in your profile, this is required for saving user independent "/"-layouts.

Dear all,

Thanks for all you replies. After check in detail, we can not enable the checkbox "user-specified" for input. Hence, for sure there is no way for me to tick checkbox "Default setting" that visible at client level.

So right now i'm thinking of is the any Std FM can perform the layout id replicating from one user id to another.

Kindly comment again.

Hi ,

i understand this thread has been inactive for a long time ,

but i ran into the same problem and figured it out and thought i should update here for future reference .

here's how you can enable the user specific check box for input using the I_SAVE paramenter of the Alv Grid FM :

Call fuction 'Reuse_alv_grid_display'

.......

I_SAVE = 'A' " enables(user-specific) for input ,

I_SAVE = 'X' " disables (user-spedific) for input (default unchecked) .

I_SAVE = 'U' " disables (user-specific) for input (default checked ) .
