Delete entries from version management

Can we delete some of the entries from the version management.

I don't think you can do that.

YOu can delete the task and request in se09/se10 though.

If you don't want the current veriosn, you can retrieve the old version.. this would require a new change request/task.. when you activate tshi version and release the change req/task, the 'current' version gets deleted..

If I want to delete cant I delete from VRSX2 table.

Vick,

Its NOT recommended to delete anything of the standard tables directly as the data integrity of the database might be lost, as don't know what are all the other tables where it might get affected.

Suresh,

If there are 20 versions in my version management can I copy the current program to a text file and then select the oldest version and retrieve it will this delete all the 19 version created.

NO, in that case, only the most recent version will be replaced with oldest one.. you will probably have to do it one by one..

Retrieving older versions will NOT delete the previous versions. Its just that you are picking up an older version and doing the changes.

The good thing about version management is that if you simply retrieve the oldest of 20 versions, you'll end up with 21 versions. The oldest and current will be the same and you will retain all other versions as well.

Vick,

If your company is governed by Sarbanes-Oxley 404, removing these entries would be a very questionable activity.

I would speak to your auditors first.

And... as stated above... why?
