Hi All,

I have a requirement, I have a field description which should not take any special characters(i.e., it should accept only alphabets and numbers).

I have wrritten the code but it is not working when given space in the field.

Is there any datatype which will not take special characters?

Hello,

I have never heard about such thing. I think you will have to accept any input and trigger some validation after the input is submitted. In this validation you will test the pattern and if that is not accepted, you will delete the value from the field. I think this is how these things are done.

Regards Otto

Short answer: No. But you can enforce with the CO operator and a string that contains only the valid values you want to appear in the field, and comparing the field content to your valid value list string...
