cl_gos_manager ,attachment problem

hi all,

using cl_gos_manager ,user can attach files and saving it, when execute the program again attachments are not there, what may be the problem.

hello ravi,

1,can first clear this point, once i saved a document with a transaction , when ever i go to that transaction again, will that document attachment will be there?

2. I am doing support now , go through the whole program wil take tme, can you which part of the program responsible for saving the attachment so that it can be viewed even we came out of the transaction and execute it again.

Hi,

In the link I had given, BDS_BUSINESSDOCUMENT_CREATEF FM is used to attach documents.

Whenever we attach the document and come back the old documents stay and don't get deleted.

But to use this FM you need to have a business object attached.

thanks for you response, from your answer one thing is very sure, that i could save the attachment , even the user execute it again we can able to find the attachments . ( i rwd you pts for this)

i am having business object .

my question is wat kind of parameter or codings i need to set , to save the attachments so that when the user excute it again , he could able to see the attachments .

can you resolve it asap

ravi,

one standard program used for creating attachment , so_object upload is been used after 'SOSPLIT_FILE_AND_PATH FM

Hi Kiruthika,

You can use the FM BDS_BUSINESSDOCUMENT_CREATEF to create an GOS attachment.

In the link I had provided, you can see the code sample for attaching a document to an accounting document. (BO - BKPF).

Hi Ravi,

see this is an existing program they have used create_attachment method of cl_gos_document_service , that i dont want to change . now user facing a problem that , though they are saving the attachment ,it is not available when they execute for the same object. hw to resolve it?

Hi kiruthika,

Please let me know if you get any solution for this: We have a simliar thing in our system: We use the GOS with own business object to store certain PDF documents as attachment. This works fine. User used the built-in functionality of adding own attachments like i.e. mail documents.

Now a bug was reported that the attachment can be added to the attachment list (visible!) but after leaving transaction it is lost. We found out that, if already an attachments exists, the new attachment does not get lost.

This looks similar to your case.

This is problem is solved by one my collegue , while creating the object for the class cl_gos class , one parameter is there ip_no_commit which needs to be set to 'R' previously it is 'X' .

I am also facing the same issue.Can you help me in resolving same issue. I am going through the class cl_gos_document_service, but i haven't come accross any parameter ip_no_commit.

In which method this parameter exists.

Hi,

I have implemented the attachment service using the cl_gos_manager via context menu on a tree structure.

The create and view attachment works fine.

How do I take a back up of attachments. In which table is the attachment stored ?
