problem in f4 help

hi Experts,

i have used f4 help for self customized field in module pool and it is working fine but when i press enter key it gives an error like

" invalid field format (screen error) "

im not getting the exact problem, plz help me to come out of this.

Hi,

Have you attached the field to the dictionary?

Did you by any chance happen to change the properties of the field in the dictionary?

If so, activate and adjust the database table and then add the field to the dictionary.

HI Neha,

This happens when the Screen fields of type DATE or Quantity or Currency fields and you are passing char or other type of values.

So check your Screen Field type and the value type you are trying to pass and stick one format.

Go to screen and check the properties of your field in screen. Make it type you want it to be.

Hi Neha,

Please check the Input help value data type against the fieild data type for which you are defining help.

hi,

thanx for ur responcesbt my prolem is not solved...i have checked the data type form both the sides.

as i have created field like

employee type : ____(in f4 help i am getting "aaaa" and "bbbb").

now in se38 i have defined this field as

data : io2 type char4.

and in screen layout

it is also defined as character and in text i have used only 4 underscores to fix the length of field.
