Can anyone help me in understanding :-

In BDC Call-transaction method the update modes are synchronous(S) , asynchronous(A) and local update (L)

what is local update actually ? functionality of local update !

hI,

The local update function performs a synchronous update according to the COMMIT WORK statement, independent of the addition AND WAIT.

when u specify tha u MODE as L then the High-Priority Function Modules are activated during the SAP-LUW.

In this no AND WAIT statement will be executed once the COMMIT WORK statement is executed.

Hi,

L Local updating. If you update data locally, the update of the database will not be processed in a separate process, but in the process of the calling program.

as asynchronous and synchronous create separate process for updation .
