Regarding : FM 'VRM_SET_VALUES'

Hi All,

I am using function module VRM_SET_VALUES to populate the values in drop down in the selection screen .

in the drop down list I am observing different behavior in different system..

In one system in the selection screen displaying only text in the drop down list (see below example)

ABC

DEF

In other system same drop down is displaying text along with key (see below example)

01 ABC

02 DEF

Could you please let me know why it is behaving differently in different systems.

This is a gui setting, to switch it on and off, hit ALT+F12 and look for a checkbox that says "Show keys in dropdown list".

Hello,

As Rich has mentioned check the setting in both the systems. Press Alt+F12 or on the toolbar you have an option for Customize Local Layout (next to the icon for Help (?)).

The context menu will have an element Options..

Click on the tab Expert in this and you will see there is a checkbox - Show Keys in All Dropdown Lists.

Check these setting in both your systems. Maybe a difference here could be causing this.

It is a gui setting so, it is not system specific. So in order for this to be your problem the difference would have to be between two gui installations, not backend systems.

great info Rich ... this is really helpful. I just wanted to know one more thing. I am trying to set a default value to the list , but not able to do so. I tried the read option, and also the simple field assignment but it did not work. For example, if my field is x which has the drop down list, then I did x= 'ABC' , but it does not work. Can you give a way for this.
