data declaration

Hi,

Can we decalre a variable based on user input? Say, the user mentions the domain MATNR in in the selection screen, could we declare a variable of type MATNR?

If possible, kindly let me know the way to do it.

Well, this looks like a BASIC question. Please search the forum with the key word FIELD SYMBOLS. You can get the answer for your question along with sample codes.

For more help, press F1 on FIELD-SYMBOLS in your ABAP editor.
