Can't find source code but version in production

I am working on a program that has a CALL FUNCTION. There is a same version in production. When I double click on the CALL FUNCTION name, it says that it doesn't exist, and it asks if I want to create it or not.

How can this be? Normally there should be source code that exists before it can be transported to production.

I can't find the code for the CALL FUNCTION, so I don't know what it is doing in this program. It is a Z CALL FUNCTION.

What can I do?

This is the issue related with the transport of objects.

Z FM did not got transported to the production and only the program got transported.May be someone missed the object.

You have to attach the Z FM to the transport in dev , then moven to quality and then to production.

Chances are there that FM is not transported form quality to production, check this.

In Dev, it doesn't exist either. If it doens't exist not sure why the activation went through and got to QA and then PRD.

There are chances that someone deleted the object or renamed it after the activation.

You need to find the purpose of that FM and should ask the details of its existance.

Sometimes double clicking won't take you to code.

Did you try seeing code in SE37 ?

Could this call be on another system because I see parameters "destination" and "target"?

Hi Sam,

If ABAP statement is like "CALL FUNCTION <func> DESTINATION <dest> ", then it is a RFC Function module.

You will be able to see the code of FM only in the called system.
