User Authentication in ABAP

Hi experts,

Kindly provide me a FM or a methodolgy where we can authenticate the current logged on user. The requirement is like this, whenever the user clicks on a button, it should prompt for a username and password. The username and password are the same as when the user logs in the SAP system using his ID and password.

Hello K Kumar,

I think you need to write small dialog programming that will ask for user id and password.

There is nothing standard available in this case.

Surely this is something better handled using authorization objects? Why would you require someone to authenticate again with the same credentials they've already entered?

POPUP_GET_USER_PASSWORD will do for your case..

check these two threads
