Hello,

Correct me if I am wrong. I guess you don't want to provide values to the selection screen fields either programmatically or by hard coding... Instead put that in a custom table where you can add the values in future...

I think you might have misspelled your requirement below.. field values instead of fields...

"I am supposed to maintain these fields in a custom table and not hardcode them to allow flexibility in adding new input fields in the future"

If I am right, please use the table TVARV where you can maintain the variables of your selection screen. In future if you want to include new VALUES (not new fields), you can do that here...

Let me know whether that helps...

Edited by: Chandra on Dec 10, 2009 11:14 PM

I am supposed to maintain these fields in a custom table and not hardcode them to allow flexibility in adding new input fields in the future.

How i do i go about doing this.

Thanks in advance.

What is the flexibility you are expecting here? If it is a custom program you have to anyway change the code to include more input fields.

Explain your requirement clearly.

Regards

Karthik D

We should maintain a custom table for the scren fields, rather than hard coding them, in order to provide flexibility to add or modify input and output fields in the future. and it is a custom program

Are you trying to store field values to be defaulted while running the program?

Regards

Karthik D

As soon as you need new fields, you need to modify the screen to add the field to it. Maintaining a field in a custom table won't make that field appear magically on the screen.
