Hi all.

I'm brand new to this forum and relatively new to SAP Security.

I need to restrict end user from modifying specifc fields on the following tcode and associated views:

MM02 (Change Material)

MRP1 MRP2 views - need to restrict users from changing the material description.

Plant / Storage - need to restrict users from changing the material descriptions.

I think what I should ask is - how do I determine which auth object governs the specific field that I want to restrict.

Rgds,

Thinus

Hi Plaas-jaapie,

Even if you are new, you should not be on your own building roles.

Contact your MM functional consultant behind the request for this access and ask them about field status variants they have setup.

Some views to master data you can also protect fields using the *AEN objects, but off the cuff I am not aware of the one (if any) for MRP. Take a look in SU21.

Cheers,

Julius
