hi nawa, thank you for your replay.

i think you got them confused.

Client dependent data is visible only when you logon to that specific client,

Client independent data is visible across all the clients of a system.

and i know what is the different between workbench request and customizting request.

it should be a customizing request, because this change is a client-dependent change.

but system returned a workbench request dialog box.

I am really confused.

hi all.

"Changes to cross-client Customizing objects and to Repository objects are recorded in Workbench requests" This is my understanding of workbench request.

i got a issue，i do a change in the DEV, and system returned "Prompt for transportable workbench request", and i transport this CR to client 100, but i can not see this in client 300.

then i fount this change is a client-dependent change. i need to transport it to client 300.

I DO NOT KNOW WHY THIS CLIENT-DEPENDENT CHANGE NAMED WORKBENCH REQUEST, can anyone tell what's wrong? and how can i recognise a change is A CLIENT-DEPENDENT OR A CLIENT-INDEPENDENT?

HELP...

thanks, best regards.

Objects like Sap scripts are client dependent that are generated in workbench

request and which need to be transported

manually to other clients for testing purposes using SCC1 transaction.

Hi,

Transport request is prompted, so that change goes from one system to another system (eg: dev to testing/quality)

But in DEV system itself, there can be 2 clients like 100 and 300.

You would need to manually copy in 300 client , some customizing changes/table entries.

Transport request in such cases, will only take changes from one system to another.

I dont think there is any way to understand, whether we need to make the same change, in other client also.

You need to just cross-check, after making change in 100.

Regards,

Nisha Vengal.
