Print Preview Problem With ALV

Helllo,

I have an ALV report on two different systems. However, in one system when you do a Print Preview the amount field is OK, but in the other, it is truncated with a leading asterisk '*'. I did a code compare and the program is the same between the two systems. What could be causing this problem?

Could be a layout issue. Check out the fields in layout i mean compare in both systems

could also be the char code supported n both system,

can also be a printer issue,try changing the printer setting(or other printer) and check.

Good point..... However, the column next to it is defined the same with nearly the same value and it does not truncate that data....

check the printer with the basis guys.

by the way, how is the field catalog for those two fields?

What do you mean by character code supported in both systems? Also, I forgot to mention that the truncation also happens when saving as spreadsheet to a file in the one system, but in the other it works fine.

In both systems, I do not have an Output Device defined in Defaults in Own Data.

are you using same printer and same logical printer setting in both system?

check the printers in SPAD tcode

Are you asking me to look at 'Display SAPPARAM'? If so, which setting? Other than that I have nothing defined in the initial screen of SPAD in both systems.

for a print preview you must be giving a printer name, right? check the settings on that printers in SPAD

Nope.... this is the ALV Print Preview which produces an ABAP List version of the ALV Grid Report.

I have the same problem. I solved it by giving the value to ref_fieldname and ref_tabname of field catalog.
