I have developed RGP system ie returnable gate pass, implemented throughout the unit.

The unit has about seven plants.I am using snro series Z objects to generate series

for gatein and gateout.

My senior ask me to create seven different series objects for seven plant so that

for every plant counting goes with 1 unit difference.

This means 7 for gatein and seven for gateout.

Is it recommended to perform this way or treat only a single series object ?.

Can it create any problem in future if i go with 14 series objects ?

Hi,

Creating separate series is the best way because it is also helpful in reporting and understanding purpose.

For example by seeing a RGP number you can say which plant is associated with that.

So go by the words of your senior.

Regards

Karthik D

Technically is it safe or not ?

Hi Aditya,

In my opinion it is 100% safe and reliable.

Also for fetching the serial number while creating RGP, do not hardcode plant/serial combination in the program, rather maintain the combination in a ztable and fetch serial using the plant while creating a new RGP.

Hope now you are clear.

Regards

Karthik D
