why data base event 18 is not triggering properly ?

HI,

Experts,

I have used data base event 18 for when ever exists record changed in data base table i want to fill some fields under the subroutine. But when i am creating new record also database event 18 is triggering why like that. It has to triggered when exists record in the database table have changed then only it has to trigger. can u please suggest me in this.

Hi,

Event 18 is After checking whether the data has changed so there is no condition that it would trigger only when change is there even creating new entries is change to table. Check the below thread on discussion to use event AB here you would have two field symbols TOTALS and EXTRACT they would have a field status and status = 'U' is for fields changed.

Also you can go to the table maintainece generator screen and add code in the PAI between chain and endchain add a subroutine after all fields and then add code based on the value of structure status.

Hi experts,

Can any body suggest which data base event can i use for when ever i change the value of a field i want to trigger the event or it better to define module in PAI of database screen.
