What exactly you mean about a Dynpro?

You have a screen and into the screen you define the container. The container hold all the controls that you want to implement for the screen. You can not embed a screen into a container. The only screen that you propably could embed is a subscreen.

With Regards

George

Edited by: giorgos michaelaris on Aug 14, 2009 12:11 PM

No, you can't place any screens inside container. For this you need to use [subscreens|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/9f/dbabfe35c111d1829f0000e829fbfe/frameset.htm]. Container can only hold GUI controls inside (i.e ALV, TREE, HTML, PICTURE etc).

Check demo program demo_dynpro_subscreens .

Regards

Marcin

I told you, this is not possible. You simply can't embed subscreen in container. In screen layout you need to place subscreen_area where you place you subscreen.

In contrary for container you need custom_control on screen. This has nothing to do with subscreens. Follow the link I gave you, you will get the idea.

Container is only for holding GUI controls inside (but not classical controls like buttons, input fields, text fields etc). Only controls created via classes like cl_gui_alv_grid , cl_gui_alv_tree , cl_gui_picture etc can be placed inside container.

If you want that classical control be placed on your screen you need to use subscreens where you place your controls and dispaly this subscreen in subscreen area of main screen.

Regards

Marcin

It depends on what you want in each side.

Let's say you want your screen be divided in two pieces: left and right.

On left hand side you want to place general data. What kind of data will that be? Is is in form you want it to be displayed?

If you want these data in GUI control i.e. in ALV Tree then you can place docking_container on this side, wherein you place your ALV Tree (here would be your basic data stored).

In this case on the right side you can place screen controls (classical ones) directly on screen layout. Once you create above container your screen will be "shortened", hence container (with ALV tree) would be show on left, while classical controls on the right. If you then drag this container to resize it, the controls will automatically follow this container. Something like in program RSDEMO_DOCKING_CONTROL (but on the left would be ALV tree (in container), on the right you would have your screen fields). In this case you don't have to go for subscreens.

As for your second question it depends in what format your document would be? You can use Dynamic Documents but this are a bit complecated (but still are placed in container), or if this is just a description you can place cl_gui_textedit GUI control in your container and here display your text.

Regards

Marcin

Take a look at RSDEMO_DRAG_DROP_EDIT_TREE and DEMO_CUSTOM_CONTROL .

Ok, so you would need some FM to get programs documetion (prefareably in HTML format, but can be in string format) and then display it in text control.

Note!

For HTML format (including heading, styles etc) you have to use class cl_gui_html_viewer (which you can embed in container as well) , while for classic string you can use cl_gui_textedit . The second however will display text unformated which would be odd looking. So rather go for first solution.

Search in SCN for FM to get the documentation, I am not aware of such but there has to be one.

Please don't forget to close the thread.

Regards

Marcin

A simpler and quicker alternative to cl_gui_html_viewer is CL_DD_DOCUMENT. The help text is pretty good and has some example programs. ( It use cl_gui_html... stuff itself, so it's another layer of abstraction ).
