User Defined Idoc

Hi all,

As I am new to Idoc, I am not aware of all the concepts.So I am seeking the help of experts regarding few concepts. This is my quoestion.

I created a new Idoc defining new segments and all.While defining the partner profiles what shoud I specify in the basic type ? Can I specify the same message type.

If I have defined new segment and Idoc should I create the same Idoc even on the recieving side. I guess yes ?

Hi,

Once you created the new idoc type you have to create a message type using WE81.

After that you got to link the IDOC type and message type using WE82 transaction.

In the partner profile specify the message type whatever you have defined with WE81.

basic type you need to speciy the IDOC type created using WE30 transaction.

If you are using thie IDOC for ALE transfer for connecting SAP systems then yes you have to create a IDOC type in the receiving side as well.

Sorry for getting back late to you. I am working out the solution you have given me.As you said I follwed all the steps and successfully created Idoc with information.Thanks for the help. One more thing on the recieving side the status of the idoc is 64. can you please tell me what does it mean. Also I want to update the info in this idoc data records to a ztable. can you please explain me with steps how do I write a program for this.

Hi Vijay,

IDoc with status 64 means ready to be process to application. You can use program RBDAPP01 to process or use tcode BD87.

A good practice to schedule the program “RBDAPP01 “in SM37.

You can watch your IDocs status using BD87 and WE02 .Also test your IDocs using WE19.

Hi ferry,

As I told you this is an custom Idoc. I did not write any Inbound processing program for this.On the sending side I just gave a random process code just to check wether the idoc is being created or not. I hope you understood my problem. Now I need steps to write an inbound program. Please explain me the required steps to write the program.

Hi Vijay,

Please take a look at SAP FM IDOC_INPUT_*.

This will give you an idea on how to write custom inbound program and to handle error messages (if any issue occured).

This FM will be called from inbound process code (WE42) during processing the inbound idoc.
