Copying the Variant from One Program to Other Program.

Dear All ,

I have copied my one of the Z program to a new Z Program. Now I want to copy the variants associated with this Old program to new Program.

Kindly Suggest.

Variants can also be copied.

While copying the program you also get the option to copy variants , select this checkbox and variants will be copied too.

I Have selected that check box. But the variants are not copied.

<li> While copying, you can have options to copy variants, includes, screens and documentation.

Hi Nikhil

I am not sure which version you are using, but in ECC 6.0, after giving the target program name, it ask to copy the various other things into the program.

1) Source (Defaulted)

2) Text elements (Defaulted)

3) Documentation

4) Variants

5) User Interface

6) Screens

7) INCLUDES.

You can tick the checkbox for option 4 in your case to do the same.

I am using 4.7C . In this also I am getting the same options. But inspite of ticking the 4th option I am not able to copy the variants.

Please suggest.

The Issue is that I want to Copy the variants on the Production client from One program to Other Program.

Can it be done ?

Hi Nikhil

Go and activate the target (newly created program) and then the variants will reflect.

I have two programs : Say Z_Program1 and Z_Program2. Z_Program2 is copied from Z_Program1.

In developent Z_program1 does not have any variants In Production client Z_Program1 has 10 variants. Now I want to copy these 10 variants from Z_program1 to Z_Program2 in Production client itself.

Please Suggest.

You may not be authorised to do the same in the production system.

Atleast i was not in my system.

So better re-create the variants.

i think in you case variant are manually maintain, i think you also have to maintain it mannually.

If you have auth. to use the trxn SE37, then you can use the FM: RS_COPY_SELECTION_SETS.
