Hello,

I have two requirements here.

1. Let's say I have a radio button '1' on my selection screen. I would like to have two radio buttons 'A' and 'B' for this radio button '1' space indented right below radio button '1'. How can we do this? It should look like below.

Radio button 1
          Radio button A
          Radio button B

2. At first radio button's A and B should be inactive (greyed out) but when I select radio button '1', these two buttons should get active.

Any ideas and thoughts on these two requirements would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Adrain,

For aligning radio buttons as per ur requirement u shuld use

SELECTION-SCREEN POSITION. Using this u can mention the position of the screen parameter.

For greying out any radio button use AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT event.

Assign one user-command code to the radio button.

Regards,

Lakshman.

Thanks for the quick response. One more quick question. Let's say I have 4 radio buttons on my selection screen. Is it possiblle to make none of radio buttons selected. Right now at least one of radio buttons is selected on my selection screen. I would like to have none of the radio buttons selected on my selection screen at first and user as to select which one he likes. Thanks.

Check this simple code

report zars
no standard page heading line-size 255.

parameters: r1 radiobutton group rad1,
            r2 radiobutton group rad1,
            r3 radiobutton group rad1

By removing the DEFAULT also First radio button found selected

Another roundway is make all radio buttons on disable mode, so none of radio buttons can selected. ,

Then user select first Radio button 1 , then during runtime you can enable the complete radio button group useing

loop at screen.
  screen-input = '1'.
  modify screen.
endloop.

Search in the forum you can find lot thread related to "loop at screen"

a®

Adrian,

I don't think there is a way to keep all the radio buttons unselected. Besides, doing that violates GUI guidelines/standards.

If you must enforce your users into making a conscious decision before executing the report, you can create a 5th radio button. This new radio button will have the default = 'X' and labeled "select one of the options below". Within the program you will check if this radio button is selected and display an error.
