Copy a program standard

Hi experts , a client of a friend of mine is asking her to create a program similar to transaction MM01 ( Create materials ) because this client wants theirs own set of Z tables with the same info manage for this tnx, is there a easy way to do this ? thank you very much for your ideas.

Hi,

You can create a Zprogarm for T-Code MM01.

Open T-Code MM01 Then goto System-->Status, a new window will open and you can check the corresponding program name.

Although it is advisible to create a Zprogram for T-Code MM01, You can search for the standard enahancements option as per your requirements.

Explore the possiblity of using customer exit, BADI or ehnacement point available in MM01 to fulfill the requirement (updating Z tables) .

Its going to be a huge task...if the customer wants to use his own set of Z Tables....better to look at some exits and enhancements!

I would not have went for Customization of SAP TCode Especially when its complicated.

also need to take into consideration what the business requirement is and how that can be handled thru SAP Enhancement options (user Exits, BADIs, Enhancement points)

This is a rubbish business requirement.

A client shouldn't ask we want a copy of mm01 so we can use custom tables.

The real requirement should explain the required functionality.

Then with a consultant you can look at the options of realizing said functionality, which could be in SAP and could even be with custom tables, but could also be realized using something altogether differently.

Tell your friend to retrieve the requirement which is now basically hidden by a custom report request.
