Enhancement using badi

Hi,

I have to use a badi ME59_EXCLUDE in the program RM06BB30 t.code me59n (used for converting PR into PO) to add additional validation for conversion of PR into PO.

Now there is also implicit enhancement in program RM06BB30...I wanted to know whether using implicit enhancemnt is a feasible option...does it affect other program which use the same include???

should I use the badi ME59_EXCLUDE to fulfill my objective??

Hi,

I think you should try using the BADI first to fulfill your requirement. If that does not work then you can use the Implicit Enhancement.

The reason being the BADI will be triggered from any other depenedent program/transaction also. But the Implicit Enhancement will only be triggered from only one specific program.

Using a BADI also reduces any chance of data inconsisitency as compared to an Implicit Enhancement.

Also a BADI is much easier to keep track of in case of any future changes/modifications during development or support and maintenance phase.

Yes using an implicit enhancement will definitely affect any other program/transaction using teh same include.

Also the BADI ME59_EXCLUDE is for SAP internal use only. So I think that creating a customer implementation of this BADI is not possible.

In that case try searching for some other BADI or Function Exit.

If you cannot find any relevant BADI or Function Exit then it you can try using the Implicit Enhancement.

You can try Function Exit EXIT_SAPLMEREQ_005 of Enhancement MEREQ001 (tcode- SMOD) and see if this helps.
