Field Exit

Dear All,

Im working on field exit.

I have generated a field exit FM. with the name Field_Exit_VBELN_1 and activated also.

I have set abap/fieldexit parameter to yes also.

But when I goto RSMODPRF program I do not get that field exit.

Please tell me where am I wrong?

If it is possible please tell me how can I debug this?

try to rename your fuba to Field_Exit_VBELN

Thanks Dear, It is appearing now and I have activated it.

Please suggest me, which program name and screen name should I assign to it.

Let us say, I run VA01. and press F1 on vbeln field . I go to technical details, over there I got many program name and screen name. which one should I select to assign that field exit.

Always go by Screen data program and screen number.

I have done it, but when I come to VA01-VBELN field it does not work.

Do I need to do something more? Or how to debug it.

you need to work with input und output, like this for matnr.

FUNCTION FIELD_EXIT_MATNR.

OUTPUT = INPUT.

OUTPUT = 'TEST'.

ENDFUNCTION.

Everytime I write an materialnumber inside field matnr and press enter, the system replace it with TEST.

If you use Output = Input, you will get your insert materialnumber.

Hi,

Field exits cannot be debugged.Field exits must be tested separately in the development environment. With errors that occur in the screen environment only, it is useful to write relevant variables to the file system using TRANSFER..., and then evaluate them there.

Fields that do not have the 'Input field' attribute usually do not trigger a field exit.

Use transaction SE51 to generate the screen on which the exit should be active. It is possible that it was not correctly generated. If you want to be sure that all screens that use the data element are regenerated, you can copy the report rsmodfdg from the correction instructions and start it with transaction SE38. The report uses the affected data element as the input parameter and regenerates all screens that use the data element.

Use transaction SE51 and choose 'Field list' to check that the screen field actually has a reference to a data element. In the name of the field exit, use the name of the data element and not the field name.

Dear Friend,

Thanks for your support, I did in the same way for VBELN and KUNNR field in VA01.

But when I enter something it does not do anything, even I have put break point in the FM.

Please guide me.
