Problem in using conversion rules in ALE/IDOCs

Hi,

I have a requirement to make use of conversion rules within ALE/IDocs.

A sender field's value has to be changed to another value depending on a mapping table.

I created a rule for this through the BD79 transaction and made the other configurations also in BD62 and BD55.

The rule type is 'Convert sender fields' and the mapping table was stored as part of the conditions in

the rule maintenance. But due to some reason the rule does not get applied at all.

Do I need to mandatorily make use of a conversion exit if I am using this option? Or do I need to make

use of a different rule for this requirement?

I tried using the rule to set it to a constant and that works correctly though.

Hi i am also trying to do the same .could you let me know where you actually wrote the code is it in BD62.
