Basis will be refreshing the DEV client and I need to back up all my custom objects. For programs, I can download them onto my desktop as text files, but for other custom objects like tables and structures I am finding it a little cumbersome. Is there a way where I can download all custom objects associated with a program like from SE80.

Also lets not forget screens

And message classes

Also how can I backup function module and groups?

Edited by: Megan Flores on Apr 23, 2009 2:51 PM

Edited by: Megan Flores on Apr 23, 2009 2:51 PM

Edited by: Megan Flores on Apr 23, 2009 3:34 PM

My suggestion will be create a single transport which contains all your custom objects (including screen, fm, fg, module pools messages) then basis can export your transport file (I think CO files) and after refresh they can reimport the transport into DEV

a®

I would try to convince them not to do this. You not only lose development, but you also lose version mangement.

Rob

Its not possible to convince Basis to do otherwise. Its part of the process here and they want me to back up all my files. Actually this is not exactly DEV. More like Sandbox. So I like the idea of moving Sandbox to DEV. I was hoping there would be some utilities out there that I can use

if it is a sandbox then you can go take the backup using SAPLINK , later you can upload them back.

Try to consider Rob's and Ars Views and take a wise decision.

Edited by: Vijay Babu Dudla on Apr 23, 2009 10:09 AM
