Extended check error i use read table statement on sorted table.

HI,

I am getting an extended check error when i use the following statement

Read table <sorted_table> Into <structure> with key <field_name> = <constant>.

This works fine. but the problem is it gives some extended check error.

Can u pls suggest a solution.

And what might that error be? That you are not using one of the fields on which this internal table is sorted? If so, type the internal differently.

Hi:

either you can hide it by the text given during the check or move data of sorted table into an internal table, sort it and then read.

Does really reading with key by the field which is not part of the key or by which it is not sorted give EPC error ?

Can we know the EPC error ?

Hi,

The error shown is possible sequential read access to sorted table.

Any inputs on how to overcome this will be welcome.

Looking at the ABAP keyword documentation the correct statement is


READ TABLE itab [INTO ls_structure] WITH TABLE KEY k1 = v1 ... kn = vn
