Adding new logic for depreciation calculation

HI experts,

I am new to asset accounting and not sure how the calculations gets handled. I have a requirement that I need to apply custom logic for calculating the depreciation for an asset. For that new depreciation area and custom depreciation key will be defined. I need to put the given logic for caluculating the depreciation.

Can you please suggest how should I proceed with this requirement? Should I go ahead with BADI and applying code for only new dep area OR is there any place in dep key where I can add the logic for calculation?

Hello,

there are the SMOD-Exits AFAR0001 to AFAR0004.

They are also documented in Customzing (SPRO -> Financial Accouting-> Asset Acounting->Depreciation->Valuation Methods->Enhancements).
