File not created in application server

Hi All,

I have to create a file in the application server for this i have coded as

OPEN DATASET G_PATH2 FOR OUTPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT.

when i am creating the file in the foreground, it is creating the file, but the same thing when i am setting the back ground job for the program in which i have to create the file using OPEN DATASET, i am not able to create the file. I am getting the error message "File /usr/sap/BI_ARF/ABC.txt is not downloaded to Application Server" in my job log.

Pls help to resolve the issue.

Hi Raju,

first cross check the file existance in the application server using tcode AL11.

if the file doesn't exist than debug the report & try creating the file using binary mode..

let me know if the issue still persist...

check whether the filename formation code is being given with the correct input filepath when ran in background.

Hello Raju

The major difference between dialog vs. background is apparently the user.

Therefore, in order to exclude any authorization issues I would do the following "smoke" test:

- Run the dialog program with the user used for the background job
