Unrelease a request

Hello all,

Created a task in the transport system but did not specify a target system (it was blank).

When releasing it, there was nothing in the "data" or "cofiles" directories.

Is the transport lost? Can one "unrelease" a transport?

A released transport request cannot be unreleased.

SE03 is basically use to handle the Transport Requests.

As for your case, you may check with BASIS or as a crack just change the TRSTATUS value in table E070 for that request.

Thanks for the replies guys -

I was wondering because there is no consolidation system set up now. There was no specification of a target system for the request #.

But, I was allowed to release the request.

There was no information in the /usr/sap/trans/data or the /usr/sap/trans/cofile directories. So, I thought the request went into some kind of black hole 😐

Package / Development class will be created above to transportation layer. If transport request is there and if it allowed to release it means surely there will be transport layer. You better to check with Basis team.

You can check based on package / development class in SE80 too.

Hello Casey

In order to make your request "Changeable" (= 'D') again you just need to modify

E070-TRSTATUS for your request (change from 'R' = released to 'D' = changeable).

If there is no consolidation system yet you can try add any of the other available systems as target system to your request. If you debug the "Release request" function long enough (cannot tell you the exact point because I have no access to a system at the moment) then you will come to the point where the standard checks whether the target system is ok or not (I think this point is passed a few times).

Well, if you manipulate the SY-SUBRC after this check then you can release your request even without a valid target system.
