to maintain a customizing table

Hi,

I am having a 'Z' table of delivey class 'C'.

The table is client independent. ( no mandt field).

I need to maintain the table without generating transport requests for the entries.

How do I do that? Do I need to add 'MANDT' and change the delivery class to 'A' ?

Is there any way I can keep the delivery class as 'C' and still maintain it without generating transport request ?

Please let me know and thanks in advance.

Generate the table maintanance for Z Table with "No, or user recording" clicked under "Recording Rotinue".

Hi,

In the Deliveru and Maintenance Tab maintain the Display/maintenance allowed in Data Browser/Table View Maint. Field.

Using the menupath Utilites->Table Content->Create Entries you can create the entries in the table.

Hi Shital,

This was helpful.

It worked. I added MANDT and then changed the maintenance dialog as you suggested.

My question is, do I need to add MANDT ?

If I just change the maintenance dialog, but donot add MANDT field, then will it work?Actually, the system where i want to maintain, doesnot allow changes to cross-client objects as per SCC4.

In that case, do I have to add MANDT ?

Ananya,

We add MANDT if we need to make table as Client Dependant. if we dont add MANDT The table will be Client Independant.

If the status in target system is not modifiable (SCC4) then generally we should transport the table entries from DEV environment.

Thanks for the reply.My requirement was to maintain a client independent customizing table in a target system where SCC4 does not allow changes to cross-client objects

1. Since the target system does not allow direct changes to cross-client objects, I have added MANDT in the table, to make it client dependent.

2. And since, the table is of customizing type( delivery class 'C' ) and I want to maintain it directly in the target system(without generating any transport request), I have maintained the Maintenance dialog as 'no or user recording routine' as you have suggested.

Kindly, confirm if the above steps are ok.
