Hi,

Am a new user to SAP. When i tried to create a Z program in se38, it didnt allow me to create and had given the following error message. Please let me know what to do.

You are not authorized to make changes

(authorization object S_DEVELOP)

I believe it is something to do with authorization, do let me know how to solve this.

Hi,

You have to contact the BASIS people for authorization.

They only can help you out.

I am the developer as well as basis guy.

Am just learning by installing my own gui.

Hi,

Go to SU01

type in username (i.e. your login name...) and then press shift+F6

go to the second tab i.e. LOGON DATA

under the user group for authorization check ...

select developer in the input/output field

and also try with other options you can explore many things with that.

You will also need a developer key to create and change programs in SE38.

You first need to register the new user on SAPNet (http://service.sap.com/sscr).

The developer keys are based on your Installation Number of the R/3 server. You have to logon to your SAP marketplace & give the installation no. of the R/3 server whose object/program you are modifying, which would provide you with the developer key, which should/can be used for that system.

You will need to inform SAP of the informaion below as well:

SAP license HARDWARE KEY

SAP version

System ID

System Number: 00 &

os/db like NT/Intel Oracle

The easiest way is assign the profile SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW to your profile. Start transaction SU01 and click on the tab PROFILE and just insert the two profiles. Save and you now won't have an authorization problem. However, as someone has already mentioned, in order to be able to create or change programs you must have a developer key.

One tip: To figure out what authorization you are missing, you should immediately start transaction SU53. It provides you with successful and missing authority checks.
