Hi SB,

If what I assume is correct, you are unable to select the sessions created by a user to delete them. In SM35, adjacent to the sessions(left hand side), you can notice a rectangular box which should be pressed to select the session and then click on delete button. I donno how to do it programatically.

I am not sure if this is what you required.

Cheers,

Vicky

Hi SB,

When you are you process the BDCs in Batch input session . A background job to process the BDC session, your program would continue and BDC session was being processed. You can set the deletion flag while calling "BDC_OPEN_GROUP" function by setting flag KEEP = 'X'.

Example :

    CALL FUNCTION 'BDC_OPEN_GROUP'

         EXPORTING

              CLIENT = SY-MANDT

              GROUP  = 'ZGRP'

              USER   = SY-UNAME

              KEEP   = 'X'.

Lanka

You can process BDC sessions using SAP standard program RSBDCSUB. You can use RSBDCDEL to delete them. Much easier than writing a custom program.

Rob

The purpose of the delete checkbox you are talking is -

If checked -

The transactions/ screens will be deleted after they have been processed . If one session has multiple transactions and some of them posted corectly , these will be deleted from the session , however incorrect ones would still be there . That is how you can reprocess the incorrect transactions only . If all transactions in a session posted correctly then the whole session would be deleted automatically and would not be visible in SM35 .

If Not Checked -

Sessions will be kept irrespective of whether they posted correctly or failed .

This setting can only be done by the parameter KEEP of FM BDC_OPEN_GROUP . If you pass KEEP = 'X' then this flag = ' ' , else if you pass keep = ' ' then this flag will be 'X' . You cannot set this flag manually in SM35 after sessions are created . Please keep in mind that keeping sessions ( correct ones also ) will mean more space on database/ O/s .

Session logs are independant of above setting and remain there till you delete manually .

For more info see OSS note 24438

Cheers .

Sanjay
