Check external number range

Hi all,

I have to write a program which alerts if a number range has reached a specific percentage of the range.

It works very well for internal number ranges (with only numbers). But what about the external number ranges with letters? How can I check how much percentage of the number range is already used?

if you have to purely go by all possible combinations with alphanumeric then you may get max no of combinations by following.

e.g. if it is 3 digit ID with 26 Char + 0 to 9 numbers

then 36 x 36 x 36 = 46656 possible combinations

if it is 4 digit then 36 x 36 x 36 x36 = 1679616 possible combinations.
