Regarding across System User Comparison

Hi,

I am trying to compare one user, say Abc in quality, with Abc in production. But getting nothing for Abc in quality.

I traced the authorization checks, no missing authorization.

Abc in quality is not locked, valid & has some valid roles.

I think, no problem with the RFC connection, its working fine if I compare, say Xyz.

So, can someone tell me, what else has to be checked? Thank you.

Please let me know if you need more information.

1) Check whether the user does infact exist... (just incase)

Even I am able to compare Abc in quality with Abc in dev.

Hmmm... my 2nd thought would be that there is a special character in the user ID name. Try comparing DEV --> QAS for the same user?

Also check whether there is anything in a variant which is preventing the comparison for the user group, or user name, or whatever.

Other than that, I don't know from here where I am. Sorry.

After you click 'Across System', select RFC name from search help only.

Please do put RFC name manually.

Then I am stumped and don't know, so I would temporarily change the connection to a service user in QAS and debug it from PRD (in display mode) to see what is going on. Your service user will need display debug authority as well, for you to be able to step into the interface of the call from PRD to DEV.

Not very nice, but works very well.

If your question relates to the above post, then I am not sure which book will teach you how to debug interfaces. It is one of those things which you learn over time from hanging around the ABAP forums...

Generally, if you want to make a worthwhile investment in understanding ABAP and subsequently the security aspects to it, then I would recommend taking the course BC400. From there you can proceed to more technical stuff with a good knowledge if the basics.
