Variant Contents

Hi,

I have a program selection screen in which there is parameter defined for getting filename input.

This input field is of type LOCALFILE.

When I use the function module RS_VARIANT_CONTENTS it is truncating the value of the filename field to 45 characters. Is there any other function module or Class that I can use to fetch the value of the selection screen field that accepts more than 45 characters value.

Yes this will be an issue.

Roundway solution will be MAP your local directory while file sits in by shorter name.

or localfile pointing to application directory then use logical file name thu transaction FILE

HI,

You Can use DYNP_VALUES_READ.

RS_VARIANT_DISPLAY

check this FM RS_VARIANT_SCREEN to create, display and delete variants.
