problem with report display in background

Hello all,

My report display contains 38 columns as output. When I schedule this in background, I could not see all 38 columns. The columns are truncated. can anybody suggest how to overcome this problem.

You can have a max line-size of 1023 and if the values are exceeding this length, you need to display them on next line.. or you can use ALVs if you still want to display all the columns in the same line.

If the size of all the columns are exceeding 1023, it will get truncated..

Hello,

There is limitation in number of colums you display in back ground .You cant run alv grid in background ,it has to be alv list and it works like classical report.

I suppose only option is to remove some fields which are less important.

REPORT yfc_excise_jv_report NO STANDARD PAGE HEADING

LINE-SIZE 500.

Follow below steps,when u r scheduling a background job ..

go to SE38 -->enter the program name and Press F8

Go to Program-->Execute in Background-

It will pop-up a screen with Background print Parameters

Click on properties-> it will display spool properties

in general Attributes--> Format you can set different format which is capable of displaying the number of records required.

I Think this is printer dependent.You may consult your basis regarding new spool format for your requirement.

(in simple word: you need to assign a different spool format( if any available) to this program background job)

Otherwise,if above step not possible, you may have to hide some of the fields if running in background..
