creating z archive objects???

Hello gurus,

in one of my assignment we need to archive z tables.. its understood that we need to create z archive objects for them..we have differenct types of tables.. input, output and masterdata tables...

1. can i create a single archive object for these tables.

2. can i create a separate objects for input , output and master data tables

Hi Kartik,

My question is what would be the criteria for creating an archiving objects for z tables...

I have 3 types of tables (input, ouput and master data tables)...all are customized tables...

can i have a single object for all the tables or one for each type of table.

Hi Ramana,

The criteria for creating the archive-object depends on how you wanted to archive your data.

Let's say, u can archive your data based on either date-wise or document-wise.

Study the standard archive programs to know the criterian for archiving the data from the tcode: AOBJ.

ex: for Materiral Master (MM_MATNR) has Write Prgm: MMREO050

Hi Ramana,

If all tables are related with each other then it is better to create a single object and define all tables in the structure definition. Use any sap Standard Write , Delete , Read program for sample to complete the coding work.

For Archive Write Program, For Master data You can make use of " ARCHIVE_PUT_RECORD"

and for Transaction data " ARCHIVE_PUT_TABLE" .

Hello my friend I have the same situation in my case I have a tutorial of sap which I have read and I recomend you that you need to read in order to under stand archiving.

in this tutorial there are some parts in which you can see some pages where it mentions some sample of writing, delete, reading archiving progrma that there are in SAP system.

Check this link and I think it can help you.

In my case I do not understand all the code sample.
