You can use the Standard Inbound button, assuming your EDI Partner Profile is setup correctly. For that EDI Partner/Message Type combination, there should be a Process Code assigned, with the Function Module behind that. Assuming you have created a custom Process Code setup already, it should just be a case of updating WE20.

Cheers, Paul.

Hi,

I have written a custom function module for some custom validations that are performing during Idoc creation.

The problem that I am facing is, when I am trying to post an Idoc (WE19) using "Inbound Function Module" button, the Idoc created successfully, but when I try to create the same Idoc using Standard Inbound Button, Idoc doesn't get created.

The error message is "Error. No status record was passed to ALE by the application".

I have debugged the function module in the both the cases, there is no issue related to written FM.

Please suggest me if anybody has any clue related with this problem.

Hi Ashish,

You idoc is failing to reach ALE layer, if it is failing with status 02, so there must be problem with port check whether correct RFC destination is assigned to port and partner profile is set up correctly.

Regards

Vinod

Hello,

Standard Inbound Checks the Port Definitions & Partner Profiles while processing the Inbound IDoc where as the Inbound Function Module doesn't do that. So, thats the reason why you are getting an error. Also, compare your Function Module with any of the Standard Inbound Function Module and ensure you've defined all the Parameters as per the Standard Inbound Function Module.

Thanks and Regards,

Venkat Phani Prasad Konduri
